The foundation system consisted of rammed aggregate piers and shallow wall and column concrete footings. The ground floor is slab-on-grade. Several steam generators were mounted to inertia block foundations on the ground floor and were installed by hoisting through special fit openings in the metal roof system prior to roof completion. Special inspections were performed for CMU mortar and grout as well as steel members, including puddle welds, pipe welds, mezzanine decking, roof truss and decking, and bolt connections. Concrete testing was performed on foundation system members. Concrete specimens were cured on site in a climate controlled curing box. This box both cooled curing specimens during hot weather months and heated during cold weather months.
