Richard has 30 years experience as a senior geotechnical engineer on a variety of geotechnical and materials engineering projects for heavy industrial, commercial airports, municipalities, military installations, high-rise commercial structures, and landfills.

He has been responsible for earthwork and grading programs on sites ranging from five acres to more than 2,000 acres, and for providing geotechnical, environmental, and materials testing services for facilities ranging in size from 50,000 square feet to more than 3,000,000 square feet.

Richard is also experienced in the field of construction materials testing, serving as a project materials manager responsible for the supervision of the testing laboratory personnel.

In addition, he has performed a variety of field inspections and laboratory tests including: observation of proof rolling, footing, pile and caisson inspection, undercutting and soil stabilization observation, compaction control of embankment fill, installation and monitoring of instrumentation for settlement and field bearing ratio of soils, asphalt construction, concrete construction, soil, concrete and asphalt testing in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, FAA, and FHWA specifications and requirements.

Richard graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
