Lisa is the firm's founder and serves as CEO, with more than 32 years of experience in the business practice of geotechnical engineering.
As an industry business leader, she specializes in market opportunities and development, strategic alliances, and overall business management.
She is deeply involved in business operations and leads BECC's efforts to maintain the highest standards in the industry and in corporate culture, always with integrity and ethics.
Her decades in marketing and client work make her a trusted advisor to clients on their projects.
Lisa attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and holds a bachelor's of science in business management from Huntingdon College.
Marty has over 25 years of experience as a senior geotechnical engineer. His work has included written engineering reports with recommendations on the geotechnical and environmental aspects of new construction and development, covering grading, compaction, and asphalt or concrete pavement design.
He has ensured compliance with design and specifications during construction of engineered fill, verified proper installation of shallow and deep foundations, and reviewed laboratory test results on asphalt, concrete, and soil. He has also conducted pavement evaluation studies.
Marty graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Environmental
Marty also has over twenty years of experience in environmental engineering, managing Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, environmental impact studies, groundwater investigations, groundwater and soil remediation, UST closure and site assessments, NPDES permitting, and asbestos and lead-based paint surveys.
He is knowledgeable in state and federal regulations covering surface water, groundwater, wetlands, underground storage tanks, stormwater permitting, and hazardous waste management.
Richard has 30 years of experience as a senior geotechnical engineer across heavy industrial sites, commercial airports, municipalities, military installations, high-rise structures, and landfills.
He has led earthwork and grading programs on sites from five acres to more than 2,000 acres, and delivered geotechnical, environmental, and materials testing for facilities from 50,000 to more than 3,000,000 square feet.
He is also experienced in construction materials testing, serving as a project materials manager overseeing testing laboratory personnel.
His field and laboratory work includes proof rolling; footing, pile, and caisson inspection; undercutting and soil stabilization; compaction control; settlement instrumentation; and asphalt, concrete, and soil testing to ASTM, AASHTO, FAA, and FHWA standards.
Richard graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology.
Jeremy brings a broad background to project management, including cost estimating, scheduling, and program management.
He has performed foundation design, soil engineering, programming, and power distribution, and handles a wide range of tasks from construction inspection and field sampling to laboratory testing and geotechnical structural analysis and design recommendations.
He provides oversight for the testing laboratory, including maintaining certifications and accreditations such as AMRL, CCRL, AASHTO, NICET, and ACI, and serves as Safety Officer at the corporate office.
Environmental
Jeremy has managed Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, environmental impact studies, groundwater investigations, groundwater and soil remediation, UST closure and site assessments, NPDES permitting, and asbestos and lead-based paint surveys.
Jesse is a Licensed Professional Engineer and serves as Senior Project Manager. He spent sixteen years as city engineer for the City of Pelham.
A professional engineer for nineteen years, a professional land surveyor for twenty-two years, and a certified bridge inspector for fifteen years, he has extensive experience in civil site design including grading, drainage, and erosion control for medium to large construction sites.
Jesse has completed numerous boundary and topographic surveys and has considerable AutoCAD experience. He attended the University of Alabama and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Willie King has been with BECC for 13 years and holds a BSME from Tuskegee University. He carries the certifications and experience to run a top-notch materials laboratory.
He is responsible for laboratory efficiency, performing lab tests, and training technicians on correct procedures in the lab and field, taking great pride in testing accuracy and data quality.
With rigorous accreditations from bodies such as AASHTO and the Corps of Engineers, Willie stays busy updating quality and procedure manuals, performing internal audits, and preparing for on-site assessments and inspections.
Willie proudly serves in the Alabama National Guard and previously served in the United States Army.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from The University of Alabama.
At BECC he leads large project setup and support across environmental projects and large, specialized construction materials testing and inspection work. His strengths are problem solving and production.
He enjoys serving clients and mentoring new engineers.
Mark is a licensed ALDOT and ICC Special Inspector, serving as a CE&I Manager and Staff Geologist, with over nine years of experience on construction materials testing and inspection projects for a range of clients and government agencies.
He has performed CE&I services for the Alabama Department of Transportation and various municipalities on ALDOT projects.
Mark is experienced in construction materials testing, including pavement and subgrade evaluations, as well as stormwater and inspection of best management practices.
He graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Geology.
Cat serves as Accounting Manager and Executive Assistant, with more than six years of administrative experience and more than two years in accounting.
She specializes in accounts receivable, billing, and payroll alongside a wide range of administrative work, and is pursuing a degree in business as she continues her career at BECC.
Deeply involved with staff, she helps recruit and hire candidates and supports employee needs. Over five years at BECC she has held many roles, and she enjoys streamlining operations and fostering a positive work environment.
